VIS201 Project 2-- Old Photo Restoration

Project Title:           Old Photo Retouching/Product Enhancement
Objective:               To greatly improve/restore an image by means of retouching and manipulation.

Conditions:             A
                                1. Bring in an old photo needing lots of retouching
                                2. Scan images in grayscale, no larger than 2 meg.
                                3. Use Save as to make a copy of your photo so that you can show  “before and after.”
                                 
                                   Target File Size: 4-6 megabytes in rgb (flattened)

                             B
                                1. Retouch and enhance images completely
                                2. Use good craftsman(or woman)ship

                             C
                                1. Convert retouched images to RGB mode
                                2. Select areas, feather, and color image using Photoshop's color and selection tools.

                             D       Work with the following skills:
                                      a. Paste and paste into
                                      b. Layer options
                                      c. Levels and curve adjustments (use adjustment layers)
                                      d. Opacity controls with tools
                                      e. Hue, saturation, and brightness
                                      f. Selective adjustments
                                      g. Feathering selections
                                      h. Canvas size
                                      i. Blend tool adjustments
                                      j. Drop shadows
                                      k. Retouching/Healing tools

Students will be graded on how much they show that they have experimented with the available possibilities. Images should be greatly improved upon. Craftsman(or woman)ship should be evident.
